As someone who has
personally experienced both the best and the worst of life, I
realize the need for a low cost health care system. Many Americans
today, for one reason or another, do not have health insurance and
are unable to qualify for Medicare or Medicaid.
For this reason, I
have created MiniCare, a non-profit corporation to establish low fee
primary care clinics throughout the nation that will cater to this
segment of the population.
Since Las Vegas
is my home it seemed appropriate to start the first clinic there.
With the help of many physicians, nurse practioners and physician
assistants all supervised by Maxine B. Ingham M.D., MiniCare's
medical director, the first clinic should open within the next sixty
days.
MiniCare's fees
will be set at $22 per office visit and a yearly membership fee of
$5 per year will be charged each patient. The clinics will be open
seven days a week with no appointment necessary and no insurance
will be accepted, only cash or credit card.
Referrals made
by our providers will be available to a network of local specialists
who have also agreed to greatly reduce their fees accordingly.
To accomplish these
goals MiniCare is filing for public charity status with the IRS and
will need to raise funds through public donations. In addition
MiniCare will apply for various other programs including; federal,
state and institutional grants, employment as well as community
redevelopment grants.
Please if you
feel as I do and want to help, you can do so by either volunteering
or making a donation. Either one will be greatly appreciated by
myself and those that MiniCare will serve.
